WHAT WE DO

Educational Outreach

From kindergarten classrooms to neighborhood association meetings, LLWA brings the watershed to life. We believe education and partnerships lead to action.

Our volunteers lead watershed walks, classroom visits, and presentations for any group that wants to learn more about Long Lake. Every session is tailored to the age and interests of the audience.

In the Schools

We partner with the Orono Schools to bring watershed science directly into local classrooms — so kids growing up around Long Lake understand exactly what makes it special, and what threatens it.

In the Community

  • Annual Water Summit — speakers and experts engaging the community on watershed health.

  • Outreach booths at local events like Corn Days, spreading the word about water quality.

  • Watershed walks — guided tours of the landscape that shapes our lake.

  • Custom presentations for HOAs, civic groups, and neighborhood associations.

We are on a mission to protect and enhance the water quality within the Long Lake Watershed. We provide collaborative leadership in improving and protecting the water quality of Long Lake and its watershed for the enjoyment of all. LLWA brings together Medina, Long Lake and Orono residents to address water quality issues on a regional scale.
